Dear paper planner, welp, this is awkward. Thanks for holding all of the plans we’ve had to cancel this year. Dear workout shoes, who knew that this would be our year? Thanks for 270 hours, 17 minutes, and 7 seconds of your time so far in 2020. Dear Kev, thanks for the belly laughs, silly dances in the kitchen, new projects, recorded adventures, and meaningful hugs that this year has been filled with. There’s not a person in the world I would rather be stuck in a house with for weeks on end. Dear 52 Book Challenge Goal, I’m surprised we’ve never met. Quarantine loves you and so do I. Dear face masks, the last 44 days has been a love and hate relationship between the two of us. You’ve been my excuse not to get more put together before leaving the house (love) and the reason for less friendly smiles exchanged (hate). I won’t be sad to ditch you when this is all over with. Dear sunsets, is it me or are you prettier this year? Dear Chloe and Willow, thanks for being best sisters and best friends. When you sleep with your heads together or drink water from the bowl at the same time it just melts my heart. Dear IRL and virtual friends, I’m so thankful that you stopped by.

Dear comfy, worn in spot on the couch, thanks for seeing me through all the craft projects, working from home, and crazy Bachelorette episodes of this year. You might just be my favorite place in the house (despite all the dog fur). Dear Magnolia doormat, scripty font is the best way to welcome people in. Dear DeannaCat3, thank you for being the most prolific instagrammer and making me fall madly in love with gardening and all the indoor plants. Dear photos of my feet, thanks for reminding me to be in the moment. Dear hubby, I’m so excited for the inaugural season of Mizzou Esports! I am beyond proud of all the hard work you’ve put toward this program, these students, and this school. No one would be a better role model for these gamers. Dear IRL and virtual friends, I’m so thankful that you stopped by.

Dear Kevin, I love you more than free sandwiches at Chickfila. Let’s never stop going there for dates and paying separately to take advantage of free food. Dear succulent garden, I’ve been doing more research over the last three days than I ever have trying to figure out when our friend jade will have a “mature trunk”. Thank you for rekindling the plant love in my heart. Dear Planner, you keep me in line. Now if only you could find me 12 more hours in the day to complete my to-do list. Dear kitchen table, thanks for being the best place for our friends to celebrate Mizzou wins, play games, and just gather. So many good, hilarious, real, and deep conversations start because we sit face-to-face. Dear Moment App, tell me something I don’t know. Dear Chloe, thanks for being my reminder to take breaks outside during busy weeks. Sitting on the back steps watching you roll in the freshly cut grass is such a delight. Dear IRL and virtual friends, I’m so thankful that you stopped by.

Dear hubby, thanks for having a dance party waiting when I got home from work on Monday. It’s the only thing that got me through this week. Dear spring, next time you decide to no call no show, can you at least ask the humidity to play nice? Dear enneagram, I haven’t done this much research on something in a long time and I am having all the feels about being an 8. LOL Dear farmers market, thanks for providing me with plants that are supposed to keep the mosquitos away. Things are going great with my lavender, but the lemongrass looks (and is growing) like a weed. Dear sweet girl Chloe, now that you have your own hashtag on IG, we’re going to have to start setting up weekly photoshoots. I hope this doesn’t cut into your nap schedule. Dear window quoter, sorry for making things awkward when you asked if I was “the owner of the home”. Sometimes I still ask myself the same question. Dear internet, you took the words right out of my mouth. Dear basement hangout, I’m adding you to the list of non-negotiables for all future houses. Westworld, PUBG, and Jack Box Party Pack games just wouldn’t be the same without you. Dear one little word, let’s connect a little better in the second half of the year. Ya dig? Dear IRL and virtual friends, I’m so thankful that you stopped by.

Dear Friday, why do you wait so long to come back around? I’d really prefer to see you more often. Dear Kevin, thank you for a yummy lunch date and a million laughs this week. You spoil me. Dear letterboard hashtag on Instagram, thanks for the sweet and witty inspiration. We need more of that around here. HA! Dear $5 Sushi Fridays, you keep us fed all weekend. Dear plants, whether you produce veggies, flowers, or just fresh air, you’re my favorite. Dear 26th birthday, can we wait another year before we start counting again? I’m not ready to be closer to 30 than 20. Dear internet, thank you providing me with some great reads this week – especially this one about creating space. Dear weekend naps, I’m comin’ for ya! Dear IRL and virtual friends, I’m so thankful that you stopped by.

Dear Kevin, yesterday you took me on a surprise date for free ice cream and I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed ice cream more. Dear community garden, you make my mornings just a little bit better, even if you aren’t doing so well and I have no idea why. Dear terrible bout of rain, thanks for reminding me how much I love the sunshine. Dear living room windows, thanks for providing light to my favorite spot in the mornings and allowing me to see our beautiful roses. I think you’re my favorite feature of our home. Dear Chloe, you look pitiful when we don’t take you on walks or give you enough peanut butter. I return the favor when you don’t let me hug you. Dear stack of books on my nightstand, I promise that I’m coming for you. I wish the library had a four week check out option instead of just two. Dear hubby, today you told me that a land cruiser is your dream car, I can get on board with that, but only if you choose a white one.
