It felt like a snow globe in Columbia this past weekend with big, sloppy snow. In February, I made a goal to use my camera every day and while I wasn’t completely successful, the challenge made me realize the importance of having quick access to my camera and lenses. When I saw the huge snowflakes I had to grab it and run outside and see if I could get the them to stand still. If you click the photos, you can see the specs (including the lens I used) but the key for catching the snow is getting that fast shutter speed. Unfortunately, it was a little too warm to get macro photos of the snowflakes…maybe next winter. After the seventy degree weather we were spoiled with today, I think we’re all hoping for eight months before we’re even thinking about snow again.

Christmas 2017

This Christmas was full of our favorite traditions. As usual, it was a whirlwind of all the family, all the preparations, and all the fun. Favorite parts: picking out our Hallmark ornaments, ice skating, Christmas eve with my parents and Kevin’s Mom and Scott, day after Christmas shopping, and my first ever candlelit church service.
