I was trying to have a no-spend month, but it’s turned into the most spend month of the year so far (yikes). The best thing? My Kanken Backpack.

I started watching The Office for the very first time and I have to say, I’m liking it much more than I ever thought I would. Jim and Pam are the only reason I’m still watching. #ScottsTots

Lately we’ve been eating a lot of the same meals, but my absolute favorite thing I’m cooking and eating is roasted veggies. I know *eye roll*.

My list of to-read books is dwindling – I’m wondering what my next book should be. Let me know if you have any good recommendations!

I’m totally savoring the last few days of summer. We live in a college town and while I love when all the students are here, I’m enjoying the last few days before traffic gets a little more backed up and restaurants have a little longer wait times.

I’m currently working through the Harry Potter series again and am in the middle of The Chamber of Secrets. I’ve also recently picked up The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. I’m typically not one to re-read books, so it’s surprising that both of these are ones that I’ve read before! Since I’ve started keeping less books on my shelves, the ones I have loved previously are enticing me back in.

I’m just enjoying the warmth and extra light of summer. It can get pretty warm here in Missouri, but I just love having longer days and being able to enjoy the sunshine when I get to sneak away for a little break during the work day.

I’m finding myself more interested in fashion lately and have been keeping an eye on a couple different fashion blogs (The Golden Girl Blog | LivvyLand | Loverly Grey). I’m a huge fan of Jess’ “a little something” tip. It’s meant for travel, but I’m using it to help dress up my more casual style.

I recently bought a bag of cherries and I cannot get enough – they are delicious. I definitely recommend them as a sweet little snack. Also currently a huge fan of flavored fizzy water.

Over the past year, I’ve been trying to finally get the rest of my stuff out of my parents house. As I’ve done that, I’ve come across a lot of things I just can’t seem to part with such as notes from Kevin, cards with sweet words, and other sentimental items. As a way to keep it all together, I started a “memory box”, which has been such a fun way to keep everything confined to a single space but still accessible to keep adding to it.

This year, I’m choosing rest as my one little word and the focus of all my intentions. I’m pretty convinced that this is going to be the most challenging word yet, but I’m looking forward to lots of growth that is likely in store for me.

I’ve been working on tidying up my craft room and hope to make it a less cluttered space in 2019. I started with clearing out the whole room and a fresh coat of paint in gracious greige. I have a whole Pinterest board of ideas, and a gallery wall with etsy art is at the top of my list.

My biggest resolutions for 2019 include: resting in God and cultivating a life of less. For me, I hope this year looks like cutting back on fluff and focusing on what matters.

In the last couple weeks, I’ve been exploring meal prep recipes and techniques. In the past, I’ve set high expectations for myself in regards to making healthy, fulfilling dinners but it’s just not realistic for me to do that on a nightly basis anymore. I love the idea of having some grab and go meals on hand to make sure we’re properly nourishing our bodies.

Celebrating victories and reviewing my goals from my 2018 Powersheets was so refreshing. Despite it being an exhausting year, I accomplished a lot and lived a lot of life.

I’m starting to look forward to fall. I really do love summer, but I almost always anticipate the change of seasons. Especially after how humid it’s been in the past couple weeks. Plus, fall clothes are so much cuter than summer ones.

I got an amazon gift card for my birthday and quickly snatched up a running armband I’ve been wanting. I’ve always just carried my phone in my hand, so I’m looking forward to going hands-free.

I recently started reading the Harry Potter series over again. The first time I read them was as they were being released. There’s something so endearing about reading them for a second time and remembering how old I was when I read them first the first time.

I’ve been a hashtagging fool lately, coming up with all kinds of groupings for my photos. Particularly loving the feet photos and the ones of Chloe.

We celebrated the Fourth of July in Jeff City with Tony and Alex. I was telling Kevin that this used to be my favorite holiday, but it really feels different now, especially since this year it made the week feel like it had two Mondays.

I’m watching Friends on Netflix for the first time (I know) and I’m absolutely loving it. The very first time I saw a Friends episode was when I was on the plane going to Scotland and both my parents were sleeping. They weren’t super excited about me watching that at eight years old and now I know why.
